The red Ward Tank Cleaning vacuum tanker parked up, ready for a pump-out run

Septic tank pump outs, cheaper when the street books together

A proper pump out by a plumber with over 45 years in septic systems. And a simple way to pay less for it: line up a neighbour, share the truck's trip, and Paul passes the saving on to both of you.

The pump out, done properly

Pumped out and cleaned properly, for the lowest possible amount

Do you need your septic tank pumped out and cleaned properly, and would you like it done for the lowest possible amount? Of course you would. Paul runs Ward Septics out of Dora Creek, and he has a way to do exactly that.

A pump out is not just sucking a tank dry and driving off. Done properly it empties the sludge and scum that build up over the years, restores the tank's working volume, and gives a trained eye a clear look at the state of your system while the tank is open. Paul is a licensed plumber and drainer who has specialised in septic systems his whole working life, so the person holding the hose is also the person who can tell you what your tank is trying to tell him.

No cutting corners, no shortcuts and no shenanigans. You get an estimate before any work starts, and the job is done like his name is painted on the side of the truck, because it is.

Partner with your neighbours for a cheaper pump out

Here is how it works. If Paul can do two or more pump outs in the same area on the same day, there is a lot less running around between jobs. Less wear and tear on the truck, fewer trips to the disposal facility, and much better use of his time.

That brings the cost of doing a proper job down, and down enough that he is happy to pass the saving on to you. Chances are that if you are on septic, your neighbours are too. Arrange for Paul to come out and empty your tanks on a day that suits you both, and you each pay less than would normally be possible from any reputable company.

The more neighbours involved, up to about four or five, the better the price becomes. A win-win you actually get to see.

Three steps, no paperwork

How Pump-Out Partners works

1. Ask next door

Think of the neighbours you would like involved and give them a call. If their tank is due too, you are in business.

2. Pick a day together

One visit, back to back jobs, on a day that suits everyone. Paul books around your schedules, not the other way round.

3. Everyone pays less

You save Paul the running around, and he passes the saving straight back. The best price he can offer, without touching the quality of the job.

The truck stays on the road, the hose does the walking

With 90 metres of pump-out hose on board, the truck parks on the road or hard driveway and the hose walks to the tank. No tyre marks, no crushed garden beds, and most of the time the truck never drives onto your property at all.

Paul services all types of pump-outs, including Envirocycle, and takes on the remote blocks and awkward tanks other companies won't touch. The full story of what happens during a visit, step by step, is on the septic tank cleaning page, including the written audit you get with every clean.

Fair questions

Pump outs and Pump-Out Partners, asked and answered

What does a pump out cost?

From $600 as a rule of thumb, rising with tank size, and you get an estimate before any work starts. Partnering with a neighbour through Pump-Out Partners brings the price down further for both of you.

How many neighbours can join a Pump-Out Partners day?

Two households is all it takes to start saving; up to about four or five works best. The more tanks done in one trip, the better the price for everyone on it.

Do we all have to book for the exact same day?

That is the idea, yes. The saving comes from doing the jobs back to back in one trip, so you and your neighbours agree on a day that suits, and Paul works through the tanks one after the other.

Is a pump out the same as a clean?

A pump out empties the tank; a proper clean is a pump out done thoroughly, with the tank's condition checked while it is open and a written audit handed over afterwards. Paul does not do the quick-and-nasty version of either.

My tank is an Envirocycle. Can you pump it?

Yes. Paul services all types of pump-outs including Envirocycle, and cleans out Flow System units as well.
